Law Family Happenings August through December 2012
Yes, we did have a bat in our house this year - YUCK! It was captured and released unharmed.
Tomatillos
Caitlyn learned much in her garden. She learned pest control, weeding, watering, composting, and water conservation. From her harvest she was able to make pesto, roast green chilies, dry herbs, make salsa, and spaghetti sauce. We planned our holiday dinner around things in her garden.
Jaryn turned twelve and advanced in scouts. He has been very busy working on merit badges as he works his way to Eagle Scout....in a few years.
Quincy completed her first big project - a fleece blanket. She has big plans to finish all of her craft projects this year. She also won the election for student council secretary.
Quincy and Josey's lizard adventures. Yes, lizards will drop their tails when they feel threatened.
Darin, Jaryn, and Josey had so much fun attending their first "real" baseball game. Josey came home with big smiles after purchasing her game trinket; the foam pointing finger. It still sits on the post of her bed.
Josey created her very own cardboard armor, invented her own head lamp, and made this lego creation by herself.
Rylie's excitement this holiday season was sky high. She has a beginning interest in crafts. She painted this beautiful rock.
Darin working with his forge. Darin made a knife for his dad for Christmas. This is a new hobby for Darin. He was very resourceful in collecting and acquiring his equipment.
Pomegranates grow here in Tucson. We had the opportunity again this year to harvest and juice these beauties. Tiffany has figured out how to harvest mass quantities and juice the berries. Pom juice is good as juice, syrup, jellies, and even in yogurt. Tiffany absolutely loves investigating and experimenting in her kitchen with the unique fruits that grow here: prickly pear cactus, pomegranates, grapefruits, lemons, and oranges. Lemon prickly pear yogurt is one of her favorites! Yes, she makes her own yogurt in a crock pot. She won't eat any other kind of yogurt.
We wish you all a very Happy New Year! We look forward to the adventures of 2013!
